"I
continue to paint the world around me as beautifully as I can.
I am compelled to paint subject matter that vanishes rapidly,
whether it is a ripe pear, the changing seasons, or dusk and dawn.
My work also reflects my day-to-day life. My family life, my neighbors
and friends in their intimate surroundings are a great source
of inspiration. My greatest pleasure is to work from life trying
to recreate on canvas the images I see. Every time I turn my head,
whether in the studio, in my backyard, or walking down the street,
I see another picture I want to capture. I am interested in light,
form, and color as a vehicle to create a certain atmosphere in
my paintings. I am constantly taking drawing and painting classes
and workshops in order to improve my skills and keep in touch
with other artists with the same goals."
